The Coming Economic Depression and Increasing Suicide Rates

The number of Americans who think another Great Depression will occur within the next year is on the rise, a poll released Tuesday shows. Forty-five percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey said another depression is likely. http://money.cnn.com/2009/03/17/news/economy/economy_poll/index.htm

The recent economic problems have been linked by health experts to soaring suicide rates in Europe. Researchers say that when the rate of unemployment rose, suicide rates immediately increased in nine of the ten countries they studied between 2007 and 2009.
