Why didn't anyone tell me about this a few years ago?  A little independent studying and $70 you can take a CLEP or DSST test and receive college credit!

Most colleges will accept 3 to 16 credits from exams.  Considering the cost of a test compared to the cost and time of a class, seems like a good idea to me.  Perfect for those that are motivated and good at independent study (and test taking).  All you need are the books (available at most libraries) and some google and youtube videos on the subject!  Then take the practice tests and then the real thing.

Luckily, I can still test out of two classes.  That saves me a few hundred bucks and about half a semester.  Of course, two of the classes I'm in this semester I could have tested out of!  A few last semester too.

No clue, but I'm sure it would be worth someone asking their admissions department.

And apparently CLEPs are free to most military personal and most veterans can be reimbursed for the cost of taking the exam under the Veterans Benefits Improvement Act of 2004.
