Confused...what is wrong with me?

Yeah, I have a few good friends, but people don't talk to me much. It's hard for me to make new friends because people don't talk to me like they talk to other people. When I go out some where with a friend...or family member and people start talking to them, I get so mad and jealous. They don't talk to ME, but they talk to the person I'm with. I don't understand it and probably never will. Makes me want to just become a hermit! I'm not ugly, I carry myself well, I take care of myself, so...I don't know why people don't talk to me. Well, people DO talk to me, but when there are other people around...I get left out. I don't know why. Just makes me so mad at myself. Wish I knew what the problem was so I can stop assuming people hate me for no reason. So yeah...because people don't talk to me much...I lack social skills. I feel like I have to make extremely intelligent conversations with people...like...I have to be perfect.  When I'm with one of my few friends or a family member, I let them do most of the talking because I shut down. I can't think of much to say. They talk and I nod or shake my head or say, "That's cool...yeah...uh huh...oh really??...interesting!!...Good for you!!" Just short sentences like those. It's real annoying. I just want to be fun and liked. I crave to have really close friends...people that want to talk to me...that want to go hang out...I want to be the girl that people want to be seen with...and that love to be around me. Sounds selfish and what not, but jeez...I hate feeling so bad about myself and I hate getting jealous and angry when some one doesn't talk to me. So yeah...that's all. Good bye.
