Dealing with pushy conformists?
« on: August 22, 2010, 08:18:51 PM »
Those people who conform to a certain religion, government, political ideology, corporation or business, culture, or social ideology.  I have found that these people who tend to be conformists to these groups are also the most close minded.  And many times, the close minded are the biggest loudmouths who feel the need to tell everyone else how to live their lives and think.

I usually use the example of a religious vs. a spiritual person.  With devoutly religious people, they conform to a set of dogmas, perform certain rituals, and behaviors.  With people on the religious side, they are not often very tolerant of other religions.

Spiritual people tend to prefer not to have their beliefs regulated by an organization, and are more tolerant of other religious beliefs.
