Jealousy
« on: August 27, 2009, 03:05:34 AM »
Hello everyone, My name is Cody and I just joined this forum.  Hopefully I can get some good advice here.

My problem is that I am really jealous.  I have been dating my girlfriend for 2 years.  I hate it when boys talk to her and I hate it that she is at school and all these guys are talk to her.  I know that is completely stupid for me to worry about that, but I know how guys are and it scares me.  Whenever my girlfriend talks about how funny a guy is or just even talks about a guy.  I just want to tell her to shut up because I get so mad.  She is also planning on being in homecoming and just the thought of some guy walking with her holding her arm makes me very mad.  Also, I get mad when I feel she is not giving me much attention.  Like if we go places and she spends more time talking to someone else than me.

How can I get over this?

Wow, thats hard, but I feel the same way if any girl talks to my boyfriend. I just try to take it as a compliment that they think he's soo great but I know he won't leave me because we have history, If he's upset he comes to me but sometimes I can be a .....yeah and well he takes it and then gets mad later, we apologize and make up. We have a great relationship even though I can be a very jealous girl. Any amount of Jealousy in any relationship is bad. In my life it means your insecure about the relationship, and yeah sometimes I am. I bet you may feel like that sometimes but hide it with anger instead. I use to do that with the previous boyfriend and he ended up leaving me for real and then I found my current boy and he's awesome! If you know your girl won't leave you then just take the other guys hitting on her as a compliment that she chose you instead of them, there the jealous ones, you shouldn't be. Enjoy your girl and be happy she's with you not them.

Cody, why do you feel jealous? Is your girlfriend good-looking and you are not? What is the cause for your jealousy?

That's not the reason.  I don't think I look bad, so that's not why I'm jealous.  I don't know why.

Are you afraid she will leave you for another man?

No, I'm afraid she doesn't love me as much as I love her.  She is a very negative person.  She looks at everything negative about her, her life, her family, ME and etc.  So most of the time she is pointing out my faults.  She is just a very unhappy person and I don't think I can change that.

your jealousy shows your possessiveness for her. which is good to an extent but becomes intolerable after. i think you should talk to your girl about the way you feel and get this mess sorted out. Her reply on this matter would make it all clear. If she comes up with a positive reply or a negative one, both ways your problem will be solved. A positive reply would mean that she understands you and this would make you make secure about your position, hence lower the jealousy. Is she comes up in a negative way, then dude she's not worth being so possessive of!

Hey cody

I had a similar problem with my girl and i blew the relship up because of my jealously and insecurity. I would advise you to talk to her about your situation and maybe things can be worked out. I can totally relate to every word you said because i felt the same. All her guy friends and their night outs would really piss me off and i was a long distance realtionship but there are certain things that are different
1. In my case i was the one who was very negative about the relship, life, etc etc (which i am trying to change now)
2.I think my girl was much better lookin and smart than me so all the attention she got from other guys made me think her guy friends are much better than me in many ways and it used to make me jealous. Tho it was really not like that because my girl was a gem of a person and she still is but st times i feel really sad that my insecurity blew things and i cant do anything now

Dont make the same mistake
hope things work out for you..

see ya
